The Generations at Neighbors expansion will consist of adding 32 beds, 14 private suites, 18 deluxe semi-private suites, and a state-of-the-art rehabilitation room with advanced new therapy equipment. The new expansion will also include an internet café, ice cream parlor, and library with fireplace. The existing property will be totally renovated. Renovations will include all living spaces, dining room, beauty parlor, and patient rooms.
As described in a press release by Legat Architects:
The work will also spruce up the interiors with more earthy materials and brighter colors. For instance, the flooring resembles reclaimed wood and complements lighter beadboard details. Different accent colors highlight resident rooms within the corridors of the facility’s five main areas.
Zach Wiese, Legat Architect’s project manager, explained the “design creates a ‘country cottage’ quality that fits with the small town feel and old fashioned values for which Neighbors is known.”
The expansion and renovation will address the needs of a changing environment for post-hospital rehabilitation in a skilled nursing setting. The residents will recover in private spacious suites and receive comprehensive and customized rehabilitative care.
This development will have a positive impact on the current residents at Generations at Neighbors and the community at large. Generations at Neighbors has about 90 employees and plans to add another 21–25 when the addition and renovations are complete. Construction is expected to last 18 months.
